Each summer we transform St. Paul’s Lutheran Church into an adventure for children
ages 4 years old to completed 5th grade. Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held
July 23 – 27, 2012, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. This year’s theme is “Amazing Desert Journey”.
Each day the children learn a different Bible story and are given a Bible verse
to learn by heart. Along with learning a Bible story, children learn songs, make
crafts which correspond to that day’s Bible story, play games, have snacks and meet
new friends. Each day starts with an opening and ends with a closing which reinforces
that day’s Bible story. Parents are encouraged to watch the closing each day to
hear about the day’s theme. Parents are required to sign their child(ren) in and
out each day. At the end of the week we have a closing program for families and
friends recounting the week’s activities as well as singing the songs learned. Following
the closing program on Friday we hold a picnic to celebrate the week. If weather
is inclement, the picnic will be indoors. Each year we collect offerings which go
to a mission project. The mission projects give children the opportunity to help
others. Mission projects expose children to information about other parts of the
world and how they can share God’s love. God calls us to care for our neighbors,
and that includes our neighbors in faraway places. This year’s project will benefit
the missionary work in Taiwan through the efforts of Rachel Sekki. Rachel is a member
of St. Paul’s who is a missionary in Taiwan teaching children. Information will
be sent out each day during VBS detailing the work Rachel is undertaking.
Our Vacation Bible School is open to everyone. We hope you consider bringing your
child(ren) to VBS at St. Paul’s Lutheran church. We encourage you to pre-register
by completing the
registration
form in to the church. Pre-registering allows us to better plan for the
needed materials. Please complete a separate
registration form for each child. If your child(ren) will
be attending VBS, please also print off, sign the
release forms in with the
registration form. During the week we take pictures.
We would like to feature some of the pictures on our website and around the church.
